Mt. Pinatubo

Looking for a great adventure? try this one! Mt. Pinatubo trek...6 hours of trek and 2 hours of 4x4 vehicle ride in one day.
It's our pay day =) Marvin and I wanted to enjoy our salary for this month, so ayun, kakaibang trip nanaman...
Thanks to Tripinas Travel and tour ventures for a wonderful and adventurous experience, they have the best/lowest package on the web. =) For as low as 1990/head you can already explore the lahar-laden landscape north of Manila
The word pinatubo means "Made to grow" in Tagalog and Sambal, which may suggest a knowledge of its previous eruption in about AD 1500
Our 4x4 with new found friends

Mount Pinatubo is an active stratovolcano located on the island of Luzon, at the intersection of the borders of the Philippine provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga.
In June 1991, the second largest volcanic eruption of the twentieth century* took place on the island of Luzon in the Philippines.
Lahar
Up to 800 people were killed and 100,000 became homeless following the Mount Pinatubo eruption, which climaxed with nine hours of eruption on June 15, 1991.

Great view while trekking

After a 4x4 ride, we need to trek for 3 hours towards the crater.

Thank you Manong tour guide for helping me... Reminder: Don't wear rubber shoes, use slippers instead... Madaming river crossing ang gagawin, if you'll wear rubber shoes, good luck na lang sa sole nito... hehehehe

Very ROCKY ROAD...

Yellow sulfur rich stream

Sulfur dioxide is one of the main components of volcanic gases.

At the other side of the crater lake

We experienced the icy cold water of Mt. Pinatubo's lake, by having a 30min dip. It was very refreshing indeed!

Another 3 hours of trek and 1 hour of 4x4 vehicle ride again...
